BCCI is going nuts, Media Restrictions you kidding or what??
Labels: BCCI, ipl, news, Top Stories 3 commentsThe BCCI came out with yet another shock statement recently when they announced that media folks who take pictures at the games will not be allowed to use them anywhere without the BCCI’s explicit written permission. To be frank, you go to the stadium with your camera and take some snaps and then YOU GOT TO ASK THE BCCI, TO LET YOU PUT THESE PICS ONLINE OR ANYWHERE YOU WOULD WANT, IN SHORT YOU HAVE NO AUTHORITY OVER IT. If the BCCI had announced it, every one would have thought it to be AN APRIL FOOL JOKE!! but wait, knowing how efficient BCCI is, it well could be an APRIL FOOL PRANK. But unfortunately it is no prank after all, they seem to be serious about this. Well so far you do not have any authority over your own pictures.
Hang on its not over yet, the photographers are going to HAVE TO upload ALL the pictures they’ve taken to the IPL website in under 24 hours. If they fail to do so, they will not be allowed into subsequent matches?!? How stupid is that? Believe me BCCI is really concentrating on making money rather than trying to up the standards of the game.
Most of the test team players were busy with endorsements, ad-shoots and inauguration and the result BOWLED OUT FOR A PATHETIC 76 IN LESS THAN 20 OVERS AGAINST SOUTH AFRICA(GUYS WERE U PRACTISING FOR T20??) LOOSING THE MATCH BY MORE THAN AN INNINGS AND 90 RUNS, THE FOURTH BIGGEST LOSS FOR INDIA IN INDIA..
And here comes the funny part, the IPL can’t keep an updated website, and they want me to believe that they’re going to be able to handle thousands of 6-7 MB image files being uploaded simultaneously?Photographers take anywhere from 200-300 images per match, and that means the IPL website will support 900-1000 GB of upload everyday? Ha! Don’t make me laugh. I’m willing to bet a thousand bucks that their website will crash on day 1. Well one thing is for sure BCCI is trying to cut the very own branch they are sitting on!! The media (and bloggers obviously) can create an enormous hype and anticipation for the matches and the event itself and that too ABSOLUTELY FREE OF COST and what does the BCCI DO? IMPOSE THESE STUPID RESTRICTIONS. I never believed BCCI should be run by non-cricket players and this makes PERFECT SENSE, doesnt it?
All i hope is that someone knocks some sense into the IPL COMMITTEE and we can have a nice and fun filled tournament rather than all this stupid restrictions and controversies.
