INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE

Chinnaswamy stadium,Bangalore witnessed the dawn of a new era in cricket with the official inauguration of the INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE. The IPL show kicked off with a spectacular show today that absolutely was world class. The stadium was absolutely jam packed - some 50,000 people. All eager and excited to watch the IPL in action but before that they had some glamourous scenes to witness. It all started with Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy and some beautiful bollywood songs. It followed by some brilliant laser shows and a display of glamour and glitz by some of the worlds best cheer-leaders. Well when Ravi Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar called up the 8 team's captains for signing the declaration of Spirit of Cricket the roar was something that i have never heard of, esp in INDIA .

The most intresting thing was that the audience really getting impatient with too much of speech, booed Sharad Pawar and the acting chairman of ICC and also Lalit Modi who had come with 10 pages of speech to deliver but had to cut short that..

But as the cheerleaders came out, the crowd was pacified again. I must admit, Vijay Malla’s got style! The Washington RedSkins, as the cheerleaders are called, put up a good show, and the audience got exactly what they came for. One dude was also holding up a poster saying “I came here for the GIRLS… NOT THE CRICKET”. Well, he definitely got what he came for.

All in all, it was a brilliant opening show. And I sure hope you didn’t miss it!
